Literally all 3 times, he casts Sol ***** on me (censoring it just in case lol, but it's a country in Africa >____>), which brings the entire party down to 1 HP and then just guns for me with a single attack and kills me, despite me having max agility buffs and literally dodging all his moves beforehand

Bruh, I'm thinking this is almost scripted at this point. How the fuck does this keep happening? >_> Am I doing something wrong?

Btw, the spell name is some old mythological phrase meaning Black Sun. But still I did a double take when I saw that lol

I just fought him yesterday, and got a hard reminder of his gimmick. Luckily, he didn't go after me the first time (poor Parvati, though).

He has a tell; after the turn where he uses Dragon Eye and Mana Drain, have someone use Tetrakarn or use an Attack Mirror, because the next turn he's going to use Sol Niger and then attack someone; with the Tetrakarn effect, you'll have your guys protected from his follow-up attack.

I don't have anyone with Tetrakarn, but I beat him on my 4th attempt. He gunned for me AGAIN but this time I managed to dodge and just Divine shotted his ass!

I barely remember that fight, forget if he uses Dekunda or Dekaja, but good old Fog Breath and then buff up and Focus smash him down pretty quick.

He never used Dekaja or Dekunda. But the only debuff I had was Rakunda. I had all 4 buffs tho

as a bonus, you can also trivialize it with tetrakarn and it's basically one of the biggest joke fights in the game (a lot of bosses are royally screwed over by reflects in this game)

Why would you not have Fog Breath on your MC? People like War Cry, but making the enemy miss every time is incredibly helpful.

Probably the one boss that you can turn into a complete joke is Ongyo-Ki. If you know to fight him during full Kagutsuchi, and thus can see his shadow under the real one and attack it, he will keep casting the buffs and Replicate skill over and over again; as long as you Dekaja him every two turns, he won't even try to attack you.

surprisingly, a lot of fiends are screwed over by makarakarn and even baal gets absolutely locked down by it and that's like the third-to-last-boss or something

in general the reflect skills are monstrously overpowered but it's up to the game on whether or not bosses react to it or not, as some games like strange journey have some bosses with no counterplay and some that effectively oneshot your team or fully restore themselves
