Current Events > Which Kamen Rider show should I watch next?

I'm almost finished with W (Double). I'm enjoying it, a great blend of action, comedy, and drama. The only other Kamen Rider show I've seen was Kabuto and that was over ten years ago. Any suggestions?

Agito or Black though you should've watched them first because of how dated they are.

Ryuki starts off good then punches its dick near the end.
Blade is the opposite, it starts off punching its dick then its dick becomes powerful.

Is Kamen Rider like Sentai where it's different every season with some similarities?

My only exposure to Kamen Rider is Masked Rider when I was a kid watching MMPR and Beetleborgs

The Showa series are loosely connected. The only season that was entirely disparate was Black, but then Black had a sequel called RX that ended with a big Rider team up.

Also Agito was billed as a sequel to Kuuga, but they really have nothing in common apart from Agito's design and the G3 armor being designed to fight Kuuga's enemies.

Double, OOO, and Fourze share a common shadowy organization called Foundation X, but they really didn't do much and they haven't turned up since the Double/OOO/Fourze crossover movie.

All that said, Kamen Rider's canon, like Super Sentai's, is fast and loose and whatever you want it to be. Are the movies canon? They're usually tied into the main story, and sequel movies usually advance character arcs, but few of them make any sense plot wise and may not have the same writers. Are crossovers canon? The next Rider will show up at the tail end of the current Rider's series to help out for a bit/build hype for the next season, but since the next season isn't properly mapped out by that point then the next Rider may act and fight completely differently then they do in their respective season. Is Super Sentai canon with KR? They each do crossover episodes at the midway point of every season now. Is Pac-Man canon?



Fuck I hope so.

I'm watching Black after trying Gaim and hating it. Black is excellent so far and I'm not that many episodes in, it's totally paused my watch of Garo season 2.

Ex-Aid is my favorite phase 2 Heisei season. It would be Build if it hadn't pulled out a baseball bat and broken one of its kneecaps in the final stretch.

My favorite season period is Kuuga, but I can't rightly recommend it since it's so different from everything before and after.

I'll throw in a vote for Black since Black Sun is coming out next year, and if Amazons was an indication of what to expect from dark Rider remakes, it's going to be fantastic.

Fourze is the only I've watched entirely and it's great!
The villain are neat, and the protag is such a fun guy.

I've enjoyed Wizard so far but many don't care for it.

The problems with Wizard has less to do with the Protagonist and more to do with the Story Writer being half absent during the show's run and one of the main heroines being missing for half the show due to her personal scheduling conlficts, which screwed over the storyline of the show.

Wizard had alot of potential, but didn't live up to it.

And when Wizard shows up in future cross-over's, he's AWESOME =D.

Agito is an indirect sequel to Kuuga as the events of Kuuga are brought up at the beginning of Agito and quite a few of the series have an inbetween movie that connects them (usually by a cameo of the new Rider)

This is what I do. I don't really binge, just two episodes a day. W's taken me about a month to watch, it'll be the same with the other shows since their episode count is the same or close.
