I just get this strong vibe that everything he's achieved in his life (and it's all pretty incredible, if we're being honest) comes from a place of deep insecurity. Like he's insecure about his height, his hair, his place as a man, his abilities as a comic. I kind of enjoy the show sometimes when they get interesting guests on but it seems like Joe has to turn it around every time into a "and here's why we are better" conversation.

A lot of people seem to achieve things because they are drive by some kind of cosmic force, and Joe's is..."I don't want to be weak".

Take this skit. The guy he's talking to is Firas Zahabi - one of the worlds elite MMA trainers. The two of them agree that most people walk into a room and feel intimidated because they don't have elite martial arts training and can't beat everyone up.

That's a bedrock of like almost every psychological theory of the male brain and a big part of evolution.

Seems kinda odd to me to act like Joe Rogan is a lunatic for acknowledging that.

It's basically the whole "90% of human actions are inspired by a desire to have sex" thing reworded.

If anything it's insecure to pretend that isn't a thing because you don't like it. That's where religion comes from, the most insecure belief system of them all.

ive seen a few segments where joe rogan talks about going bald, and how it was the "best" decision he ever made. one time he even said "if i had a full head of hair today, i would still shave it off". yeah that's bullshit.

I would be more sympathetic if he were more direct about that. We all have insecurities in our lives and that doesn't make you anything special. It's all very human.

I think my favorite is his glaring insecurity around being an idiot; Joe Rogan is not an intelligent man, and he has just enough self-awareness to seemingly understand this, and he tries very hard to seem smarter than he is as a result.

I mean tbf he often has guests that are far less well known than him wether they're comedians or involved in mma he has plenty of guests most people have never heard of.

Yeah, Rogan probably is very insecure. But isnt that a good thing?

I bet a lot of his accomplishments stem from those insecurities. Cant just sit around and be Ok with your lifes status quo, just because youre afraid of moving forward or being judged.

Not at all true. The guy in that video above is a club level standup comic. Rogan slings his dumb dick jokes in theaters and arenas.
