The country has begun to round the corner on C19 with mass vaccinations, and I believe now is the time to terminate all free handouts, raise taxes on the rich, cut welfare programs, reopen the economy, and pay down the debt. I dont think its good for our country or the economy to keep people perpetually stuck in a cycle of dependency with handouts & welfare programs. The stimulus payments are meant to both be actual economic stimulus and financial relief, and the amounts given dont do shit to adequately provide for either. $3200 to last practically a year, and nearly half of it only started to show up literally yesterday. It isnt equivalent to UBI; not in the timeframe it was disbursed, the amounts given, nor in its purpose.
