I remember my friends and I downloading and watching a clip of Goku pulling down Bulma's panties and another clip of a Russian dude getting his throat slit on Kazaa in computer class in the 6th grade.

First it was Napster, then Kazaa, then Limewire.

Napster, I was 9-10 at a friend's house and we just downloaded Weird Al songs (and tons of parody songs that were not Weird Al). We also loved listening to Bohemian Rhapsody and Fat Bottomed Girls.

Limewire, when I was 13, my dad found the 'Incomplete Downloads' folder. I was like 'c'mon dad, can't you see, those were the gross pornos I didn't want!'!

I think I found out about Napster through the news and the whole legal thing. By then it was charging money for downloads. I mainly used kazaa and emule.

Napster was the ultimate service at its time for finding new songs for me, it defined what I would listen to all my life because I discovered new content un heard of at the time.

Add in some WinAmp with some fire themes and the ultimate Visualizer and you still cannot top this experience.

After the shutdown from Metallica and the Riaa i went to miRc, they pointed to Kazaa, but i was into everything, I was a teen with no money and back then believe it or not buying music was super niched and not much available and expensive i remember some cds going as high as 20 dollars back then, i mean you could easily walk into an FYEs Suncoast, Sam Goodys but their selection was really just mainstream music, think of what you would listen to on broadcast radio.

The greatest ultimate service IMHo was AudioGalaxy, then Supernova/mininova, etc but now you cant stop streaming its bigger than everyone and looking back at it now you can pull up any service and find everything youre looking for.

I made the purpose of legally buying all my old songs and deleting the old stuff and keep my library 95% legit, but still, last week I legit found my stack of old music cds from 20 years ago and going through some cds I didnt realize how much random songs I just tried to fit in one cd-r haha but I could legit still cannot Shazam some songs on some of them hahaha

I used Napster to find new music, then I'd go out and buy the album if I liked it. Then Metallica and the Recording Industry Ass of America sued and I just stopped buying CDs. Screw them.

When Mtley Cre came out and said that they didn't care that people were sharing their songs and hey, here's a free song from our new album, I went out and bought their album just because of that. I'd never had a Mtley Cre album before that.
