They have a thing here called common law marriages which you can become after a year of living together with your partner.

It basically gives you all the perks and legal stuff without actually getting married.

What happens if 2 roommates do this then they stop being roommates? Do they lose the perks?

Good question. What happens if you have to girls you live with that you regularly have 3somes with. Then what? Doesn't exist for me that's for damn sure but I'm just curious lol

And the downsides as well. So if you were with someone long enough the separation could get messy and costly the same. Although it is state dependent for the most part.
