I've always found it strange how its fine for a woman to say they only want a tall man but if a bloke has a preference for a woman they kick off and say you should like them just the way they are.

I dont think thats really a thing. You dont have to be attracted to anyone that you arent attracted to.

Some folk can't handle rejection well and are actually insecure about themselves so project onto others. Using insults as a ice breaker though is certainly counter productive and never makes any sense to me from a man or woman. It's actually a quick way for me to stop acknowledging them.

Personally I think the blame is spread pretty evenly through our culture but ultimately anyone treating another person badly is responsible for their own actions.

This part I agree with. That's why my whole thing has been focused on instilling young children. Teens and certainly adults have no excuse on a character level. That said there's problems built into the structure of society. Apart from simply bad characters, economics plays a large role. Apart from a few countries the modern workplace is very hostile to child rearing.

I've not bothered with dating sites all that much and certainly wouldn't bother joining them to harass people on the internet. That's not what dating sites are for. The clue is actually in the name. I can't give much of a explanation due to this. I only assume some men think "treat them mean, keep them keen" is a draw. Even more so on the internet. This isn't at all new or shocking.

guys mix it up. women get a lot of messages. a lot of the same messages. i used to get on dating apps when i was in my early 20s (20 to 24). i am 30 now. i don't mess with that stuff. but i remember seeing profiles where women would basically say not to send a boring ass message. be unique. etc. like the "how are you doing" type of message. i never went down the insult path but i can see where some guys are coming from. but some just dislike women and want to make them feel bad because they were hurt or something.

I remember reading a lot of profiles with "About Me" sections that would simply say, "Just ask [about who I am and what I do]!" at which point some user on here suggested the "MeetUp" website in order to meet people.

I think maybe thats a misconception on your part. It might seem like that online sometimes but I dont think Ive met many women that actually feel that way. Most people are looking for someone that they just enjoy being around.

Think about the kind of person youd rather be around and try to act like that. Doesnt guarantee that youll match up with someone but if you do youll likely have a far better shot at a healthy relationship than if you just conformed to some perceived expectation that you think most women have. Would you really want to pair up with a woman like that anyways? Wouldnt you rather be with someone where you could mutually value each other?

I remember joining okcupid and sending a lot of messages out to people that were thought out based on their profile and then not receiving any responses. I wrote a message I thought was perfect to a person, I thought the girl and I were compatible and that it would for sure get a response. When she didn't say anything back I was very frustrated and sent her a snarky message, I doubted that she would read it anyway and wanted to vent. I wasn't insulting but it definitely wasn't the best thing to send.
I've also sent out some message that are more of a "fuck it, lets see what happens" mentality.

The online dating sphere is very different for men then it is for women.

It can be compared to applying to a job easily. Women represent the job and the men are all the applicants, except throw in personal emotions and there is a perfect formula for people erupting.

Just couple that with the fact that men massively outnumber women in online dating means considering this practically, if theres x3 times the amount of men....that also means x3 the amount of assholes.

That sounds like a self fulfilling prophecy in a lot of ways

I mean with an approach to deal with an outlook like that you might get a few dates eventually but the chances of of you meeting someone that you really connect with would be pretty low considering youre just trying land practically any woman that will accept you.

Seems like it would make a lot more sense to try to be genuine and find the right person.

Well first off theres less incentive to do so. Women typically have plenty of guys interested in them without being on a dating site. Even when women do join dating sites, they get their inbox flooded with mostly what we call "fuckboys". Who are...you guessed it...out just for sex. So unless she is just looking for dick, then dating online for women is difficult in a different way than it is for men.

Thats very correct and I have had it happen to me.
Though the being genuine part is harder because the massive amount of attempts you can output and not even get a reply is staggering.
