No to all of those

Wrong.

Nirvana has 3, The Police have 5 and RATM has 4

All of which are great (which is another important factor)

Renegades is a bunch of covers. It's pretty difficult for it to suck unless you just don't like the original tracks (although I agree their cover of Beautiful World sucks which is so disappointing).

The Police and Nirvana have plenty of great music that aren't singles (Rehumanize Yourself, Synchronicity I, Canary in a Coalmine, Man in a Suitcase, Frances Farmer Will Have Her Revenge on Seattle, Dumb, Lounge Act, Polly, etc.)

Edit: And even ignoring that, why does it matter? It's not like singles are really even a thing anymore.

Tool.

To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Tool. Their songs' deeper meanings are extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of music theory most of the time signatures will go over a typical listener's head. There's also Maynard's nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his musical characterization - his personal philosophy draws heavily from ancient literature, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these odd time signatures, to realize that they're not just weird- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Tool truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the words of 10000 Days' song "Lipan Conjuring," which itself is a cryptic reference to Lipan Apache's epic culture. I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Maynard's genius lyricism unfolds itself on their iPhone speaker. What fools.. how I pity them.
And yes, by the way, i DO have a Tool tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It's for the ladies' eyes only- and even then they have to demonstrate that they're within 5 IQ points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand. Nothin personnel kid

Sure, but you can easily fit all their good songs on a single "Greatest Hits"-style CD each

This isn't true though.

And especially for Nirvana and RATM if you only count their original music, why buy one Greatest Hits CD when you can buy all of their studio albums and have a better product?

I would not put Michael Jackson on this list, but I would much rather have Off the Wall, Thriller, Bad, and Dangerous than a Michael Jackson Greatest Hits album.

Black Sabbath, at least the Ozzy years anyways

So many songs that became staples throughout the metal community but didnt get as much AirPlay as Paranoid or Iron Man

The Beatles are another band due to their historical merit. I tried to collect as many Duke Ellington albums as I possibly can find but I wouldnt say I like all his songs >_>

Just became something I did

Any artist that you enjoy.

I disagree with this because I like The Beatles a lot but they have 22 studio albums... they do have a core catalogue of 13 albums but that's still a lot. The Beatles albums are also confusing because for the most part they released different sets of albums in the US and the UK. Not really practical to own all of them unless you accumulate them over time.

For other bands that have been around continuously, a lot of times their newer albums aren't as good as their older albums and aren't really worth owning. At least IMO

As much as I love The Beatles and Nirvana the answer really is 'whichever bands/artists you enjoy the most'

I think we can put Joy Division up there easy if you like that stuff. Stuff where there wasn't a ton of records for sure. David Bowie has a looooot of good albums.

The Beatles and Nirvana are probably the only bands I really love that I view each record as completely indispensable, and the Beatles moreso because most of their singles didn't end up on records.
