the only time ive gracefully quit a job was when i was so depressed and fed up with my boss, when he asked me about a project i was apparently supposed to do but no one told me about, i just looked at him and told him im over this and we had a conversation where he was like yeah im fucking done here too, its a mess.

but the others:
-just stopped showing up. got a letter saying i was fired for job abandonment
-quit the last day via email
-school year ended, and when the bosses emailed me about the next year i just flat out ignored them.

i dont really want to do that again. im worried im not giving them enough notice (1.5 weeks), but fucking hell the new job is paying TWICE as much as i do and im not sitting around waiting for that. we're in a god damn pandemic people i need the money

Have a closed door sit down in your boss' office. Tell them you got another job offer and decided to take it. When they ask when you'll start/last day, tell them you wanted to provide the standard two weeks but your new employer is insistent you start within 1.5 weeks.

Nah screw that, get your money man - if they don't understand they can stay in the closed chapter of your life while you roll in the money

The sooner you can close out this lame chapter, the better. If they don't understand I wouldn't take it personal. Do it sooner rather than later ofc.

Just think of how much better things will be and work the rest of yer shifts

You have to have some kinda of direct supervisor you report to....

Yeah it's a small white lie I tell on occasion that seems to work well. It depends if I'm ready to get the hell out of the job or not. Granted at my level giving two weeks isn't enough. It's 3-4 weeks.
