One PM ended with "Youre the type of user that makes me continue to use this site." and another even longer one from another board that included "your post here was awesome" and "I pm'd you as I really wanted to hear your opinion."

I've received the odd nice PM in the past (generally about helping realise achievement / trophy addiction) or an apology, but 2 in one go?

Then I thought: well I've been blocking stereotypes and arguers, maybe these are the fruits of my blocking labour. With all the bad eggs gone, the site has finally turned... nice...?!

I'm not a regular on Current Events, I usually stick to certain game forums and a couple of general game ones, unless I have something current to event.

That's the beauty of the new blocking system - it doesn't just wipe someone off your GameFAQs, it wipes you off THEIRS, so they can't stalk you (unless they log out or log into alts, copy your post, log back in, paste the quote, format it so it looks like they clicked 'quote', then 'reply' to you even though you can't see it just to get the last word... I know one person does this...

If you then go into settings -> advanced settings and turn off 'Hide Ignored Quotes', you won't miss posts from people quoting them (and may be replying to you too in the same post).

So the fact you can see this topic means you're not blocked.

I agree with you TC. I just don't like blocking people because sometimes people might surprise you. Also it makes it hard to follow conversations and maybe I'd rather more people see my posts than shut them out for no real reason. I find myself not having issues with people a lot of others have issues with, though. Maybe I'm just a neutral minded person.

Only ever blocked people who constantly spam out spoilers for any big release, like Izual, but found ignore works fine otherwise. And ooooooh does it make CE so much better to put the trolls and right wing nutjobs on ignore so never even have to see their nonsense.
