It's icy outside but I went to check the mail and slipped. I stretched out my hand and sorta fell on it. Tore my pants and have a bloody knee sigh. My wrist hurts a bit to move, and is looking kinda swollen. Not sure if it's fractured or if it just hurts.

Its best just to take the fall. Majority of wrist injuries happen because people try to break their fall.

I love snow but hate ice. I slip and slide a lot and it's only a matter of time before I fall on my arse. I've never had any serious injury yet though.

Sorry. It is always best to roll into a fall rather than brace yourself for impact.

Do wrist rolls to check your range of movement and pain level.

That's good. I bet it's a lot icier where you are than where I am, in general

Maybe a bit. I've never broken a bone so idk how much it hurts, but if it was actually fractured I feel like it would feel worse than it does.

Next time!
I'm doing a lot of typing and sipping tea, and my wrist is managing. Painful, but full range of motion.

My city is built on seven hills and I live near the top of one of them. However the ice has mostly melted now.

kind of this; I try to land flat on my back if I can. but sometimes it happens too fast, or you're carrying something or not in a good position, etc.

the last time I was carrying a couple bags, and when I slipped I fell hard onto my left shoulder before I could do anything about it. (had pain in the shoulder/collarbone joint on and off for over a year afterward.)

I'd rather injure my wrist than my face (especially my nose)

it's like seven hours later and still hurts (more than my leg and back, anyway). Guess I'll put a brace on it.

At the end of January 2015, I fell from ice and hit my lower arm on a concrete step. Broke it in two places. There wasn't anything I could do to stop from falling or stop from falling on it with my full body weight on top of the arm. It still hurts a little bit at times. Was lucky enough to not have to have have the bones stay aligned, so I only needed a brace. It would have driven me nuts to not be able get at an itch.
I hope your arm does better and that you get better soon.
