I been wondering. Give me your opinions. The store that called the police on george floyd about the fake 20 dollar bill. They literally kicked off everything that happened through out the summer and to today. But i don't understand how all the protestors went everywhere else except to that store. How the rioters destroyed hundreds of stores that had nothing to do with george floyd, yet didn't take out their anger on this store who caused Floyd's death. Today the store is still open and doing business. When Rayshard Brooks wad killed in Atlanta, protestors burned down the Wendy's that called police on him. And the turn out for brooks wasn't even anywhere near as huge as Floyd. It just seems backwards to me. All that store had to do was keep their mouths shut, george floyd would had drove away and nothing would have ever happened.

The store was in the right for reporting someone trying to use counterfeit money at their business. The cops were completely in the wrong for how they handled it.

We don't even know of George Floyd intended to use counterfeit money. He could have gotten it in a transaction where he didn't know the money is counterfeit

So anyone have any logical reasons to the question i made and with the supporting evidence i posted with it?

Stop focusing on the money part and explain how the store is still standing after protestors and rioters went after so many other places that had nothing to do with Floyd's death

For what it's worth, the owner feels horrible and wishes they'd never made the call. Also, this

George was admittedly acting odd, but the cops job is to de escalate and determine if a crime actually took place, not beat the shit out of and strangle people then sort it out after the fact.

Having worked many retail jobs, the few people who used counterfeit money did so unwittingly, and policy has always been to just turn down the transaction. Cops shouldn't be called if it can be avoided, since they overwhelmingly make the situation worse.

Yeah, when I worked retail we would just decline the money and only escalate if the customer caused an issue and refused to leave and even then they had to really escalate to get the police involved.

The kids that called the cops had no idea what they were doing. The one didnt even know how calling 911 works (nor what it meant to call the cops on a black man specifically) and the other shouldnt have confronted anybody outside the store over something petty like that.

And fwiw, the store shut down and it was vandalized repeatedly. Apparently the only reason that it hadnt been burnt down was because they stopped it the multiple times it happened.

Thats a terrible excuse. How can a teenager who is almost an adult not understand what 911 does? There are children like 4 years old who know what 911 is and have used it to save people

Unless the transaction is upwards of $100 then just decline the transaction and kick them out of the store. Police do not need to be involved, especially for a fucking measly $20

All 3 of my former jobs where I handled cash transactions we were specifically instructed to never call the police if we suspected people had handed us counterfeit money (and we only ever checked $50s and $100s to begin with as well).

Yes anywhere i ever been they only checked 100 dollars bills. In my whole life i never had a 20 checked. Makes no sense why these people in the store would test a 20 even

Ultimately its up to the store on if they want to call or not and this store was justified in doing so

Nah. Was twenty bucks, and like I said most people don't realize they're using fakes. Not to mention they got a man killed by involving the police, which is easy to see coming. Little mercy and empathy goes a long way
