TheRock1525 03/04/21 2:40:48 AM #51:	Ha! I got to the scene where Varric recalls his revenge on Bartrand, where he goes one-man army and wastes enemies with one shot. It's so fucking BioWare janky, like he's supposed to spit and there's literally nothing, not even the sound of spitting. That being said, the quest is a primary example of something I love and hate about BioWare games: how things can be radically different based on who you bring with you. For the first run, I brought my standard party of Hawke, Isabela, Merrill, and Varric. When you finally confront Bartrand, Varric is angry, accusatory, frustrated, and Hawke has to repeatedly reason with Varric to convince him to let Bartrand live. Yet then I read online that bring Anders can make Bartrand lucid again. So curious, I redo the mission but this time with Anders, and sure enough he casts some spell on him that makes Bartrand sane for a little bit, and it's amazing how quickly Varric becomes genuinely concerned and almost forgiving about it.
