Two people have been reported as having the S.A. variant and are in California.

I'm not eligible for the vaccine and may head across the border to get it.

Do you know if the current vaccines have any protection against the variants?

the south african strains could get around the vaccines, thats the one to worry about. Its fine though

mrna vaccines can be easily and quickly tweaked for any new strains, unless they do some crazy super mutation

i guess

it don't matter. some of the californian's with ego's big as trump will disregard health warnings. it's going to spread.
giving 3 to 1 odd's the vaccine will have little effect (until j&j vaccines are available).

going to get nasty in a month with spring break.

Trending information suggests if they do, it's not significant.

The way I understand it is that vaccine conferred immunity will prevent serious illness. The problem is that - in theory - you can catch and transmit B.1.351.

This is a head ache for health departments rolling out vaccine to slow down the spread and a problem for you if got the vaccine so that your loved ones will be safe.

(It really is time for all elementary schools to 100% remote learn).

If they tweaked the vaccine does that mean if you got it already youd need another shot?

Alright.

Would a Newer vaccine be able to protect against the original and the S.A.variant?
