TC, you still haven't answered this question.

An_Actual_Chad posted...
TC, have you ever played any of these types of games? Because they're nothing like what you have been describing throughout this topic

* A game with heavy emphasis on exploration, full of secrets
* An open world RPG where your character(s) are highly customizable
* Any RPG where your character(s) are very customizable -- especially isometric RPGs
* A roguelike (each level is randomly generated and unique every time you play the game)
* A stealth game or immersive sim that allow a ton of flexibility and creativity for how you navigate through the game and deal with enemies

TC has basically been saying throughout this topic that there aren't singleplayer games with extremely high replayability. And that's just untrue.

That's not important because no human will ever exhaust all those possibilities. If, for both SP and MP games, the limit of possibility is higher than the capacity of human capability, it ceases to matter which has higher more possibilities, because no combination of humans will experience them all.

The answer is none. Fighting games do this inherently is my point.

what's wrong with single player oriented games?

I've played a ton of online multi back in the day. I had a good time, but I prefer single player now. some people are annoying to deal with and I don't feel like going online

obviously multiplayer oriented games that are built with pvp for the ground up, are better with people. even with smash bros ultimate, I had a blast playing people.

depends on my mood basically.

when i feel like playing by myself, i'll put on a single player game.

whenever i feel like playing with friends or strangers, i'll throw in a multiplayer game.

I honestly don't see how people can read books. They start out pretty enjoyable until you realize you're doing the EXACT same thing every other reader is doing, this making the experience not unique at all...

This is why I can only watch sports these days, literally every match has a million different possibilities. Instead of the ONE the author wrote for you.

Watch a let's play of any single player game.

That's exactly how it is for every one that plays that gme.
Not necessarily, especially in strategy or combat based games.

Examples?
Strategy, Super Robot Wars. You get a wide pool of characters and robots to pick from, that depending on your preference, there's no way two players will have the exact same run or style of gameplay. Some might go for brute force, some might play defensively, some for speed, some for technical wins, or any combination of those or other strategies. For purely single player examples, the same logic can be applied to Advance Wars, Fire Emblem, SD Gundam. And those are just basic, grid-based strategy games, nothing with base building and army commanding like Command and Conquer or Starcraft.
Combat oriented, pretty much anything outside of one weapon, no customization games can offer unique experiences. Nioh, you've got 30 guardian spirits, 7 close combat weapons, 3 ranged. Again, depending on your personal preference, it's highly unlikely a let's player will approach the game the exact same way you, me or anyone else in this thread would.
Although I understand your point about fixed endings and paths, it really shouldn't be a concern outside of incredibly simplistic, NES era games.
