This one that I just watched is called Crime Scene: the vanishing at the Cecil Hotel

And it starts off really interesting until it all armchair detectives get involved. Then it devolved into bullshit city. Conspiracy theories and other shit of no value.

One random dude literally says at one point my gut was telling me ___this happened__ and not __this other thing that may have happened__

Your gut? Okay Sherlock. Maybe go back to cleaning peoples teeth and leave the crime solving to the professionals.

Ive been getting way too into the internet mystery side of YouTube lately, and Barely Sociable is probably my favorite. He is pretty selective about his topics, and he is probably the best at actually investigating everything and coming up w/ the most reasonable solutions.

I like NexPo too, he also is pretty good at research and has a really high production value. He does a lot of ARG analysis videos too though, some people arent into that but I find it pretty fascinating how people come up with all these crazy stories to tell through social media.

Facts are boring most of the time is the problem, people want crazy and interesting.

I mean when its a weird disappearance or murder or something like that. I think the facts SHOULD be interesting enough by themselves. No? There is some level of theorizing and conspiracy that is exciting to hear, especially when its from professionals in the case who have seen everything over their careers, who know all the intimate details of the case. When they dont know wtf is going on then thats a juicy extra layer we can all get behind.

but when Pepperoni_Pop_Socket_421 chimes in with his theories Im out. Devalues the whole thing. Theres a reason why random people arent allowed to step under the crime scene tape and start inspecting blood patterns and launching theories. No one gives a flock.
