oh for sure, not having an n64 meant you missed out on like 6 games that were 10/10, but not having a ps1 meant you missed out on like 50 games that were 9/10

I loved my Nintendo 64 but was super salty about final Fantasy 7 being on Playstation only. I didn't realize how many other awesome games were on PlayStation at the time

Yea the ps1 was a console I've never been more wrong about. When it first launched I thought it was going to be like the 3DO. Sony making games? Never gonna work......
Funny thing is, like a year or 2 later I would end up selling my saturn so I could get a ps1 If you told me back in like 95 or whatever that the playstation brand would still be around in 2021 I'd think you were insane ... Copied to Clipboard!

Yeah, N64 was incredible, and that console was my life, but when I got a PS1 a year and a half later, it just felt like it did a lot of things better. Mario 64 was groundbreaking and influential for 3D and free-roaming gameplay, but there wasn't a lot else afterwards that really wowed me or held up well.

Both systems had reasons to justify them. 3D gaming was still new and new game concepts were popping up on both systems. The N64 aged worse and the hate for the controller is infamous.

N64 had fewer games, but those games were really good >_> I'm glad I had a N64. Goldeneye, Ocarina of Time, Smash, and Mario Party were all great fun

I had the N64 at launch. Later got the PS1 after FF7 came out.
I still think I like the N64 a bit more overall. The multiplayer stuff put it over the edge for me. Goldeneye, Perfect Dark, Smash, Star Fox 64, Mario Kart, Conkers Bad Fur Day, Mario Tennis, WCW vs nWo World Tour, WCW/nWo Revenge, and then several sports games... all great stuff with friends. They were both great systems, though. Im not bashing PS1 in the slightest. Just slightly preferred N64. --- Live action Hungry Hungry Hippos though, now that was a sport. ~Aeon Azuran ...
