I had lost my job while my wife was pregnant, and we were able to sign up and get our healthcare fully covered. Even after I got a job and received private healthcare, the state healthcare stayed and was able to pay for the deductible to my private healthcare. Thanks to this, I had my private healthcare pay for most of the cost of the birth of my daughter, but I also had state healthcare cover the 8000 for the deductible.

Anyway I don't get why people say having government provided healthcare is a bad thing. It's really made a huge difference for my family when things sucked. Sure, it isn't currently managed in the best way, but it's still better than nothing.

Its literally how the developed world works outside of the US.

Meanwhile here we have people dying when they could get treated because theyre terrified of the cost associated with being taken to the hospital in an ambulance and weve got pregnant women being charged $5000+ for emergency room visits if they go into false labor, and these are the folks that are insured.

Broken country.

The only reason someone would not understand both sides of this issue is because they make a conscious decision not to listen to both sides of this issue.

I am also thankful for state-provided healthcare.

It has given me a legitimate reason to fuck-off and make less money. That also qualifies me for food stamps and I can defer on my student loans indefinitely.

I had been traveling the country by giving rides for gas money and working music festivals under the table for cash. My health insurance only works in my home state unfortunately.

I can ride this wave another 15 years and my student loans will be forgiven (they should be already since the institution has been shut down but the fed loan assholes refuse to address my appeal). I'll wait them out, fuck it. Unless I fall into some mega-bucks (which I almost did before C-19 shut down the entire industry I was to make the money in), I'm gonna live Bohemian as FUCK.

It's amazing how one-sided the argument is, if you're even considering the other side you're tricked by shills, or you're really emotionally attached to your political party. I hope you consider this a red flag.

Consider yourself lucky the picture is so clear. Bad politicians don't realize they have to pretend to like something that is objectively modern and they can be without a doubt written off as rotten.

Find one country without single-payer healthcare. The "issue" is that we don't have it.

Remember that politics is a constant struggle by virtuous intelligent grass roots (aka poor) people against the rich using their power against you, to try to convince you to take their side, and convince you that you're immoral if you ask anything from the government. Meanwhile, they run a Marxist society for rich people at the top.
