I think the laughing scene is absolutely hilarious. Tidus and Yuna being goofy with each other was realistic for people who like each other (or maybe I'm just weird.) When people say it's the worst scene do they mean it's not funny? Or that a ridiculous comedy relief scene doesn't belong somehow?

It's also within the realm of possibility that plenty of people consider FF 6 to be the best game in the series for very good reasons. But to be fair I was also flippantly dismissive of Ultimecia's Castle winning best dungeon, so I can't harp on you too much for such behavior.

IIRC there were additional plans for Gau that got scrapped. I think his father was supposed to have been a failed magi knight like Kefka or something like that and it ended up getting scrapped. In the end Gau (+ Gogo) is the only character in the game with absolutely zero connection to the main plot of the game until he meets Sabin and Cyan

That scene is suppose to be bad. Within context of the story it ia fake laughter. It sounds even worse in Japanese.

Noctic received the news that niffleheim army attacking insomnia and that his father was dead such an emotional scene

Can't really think of anything atm so I'll go with FF Type-0 Chichiri and Izana death after the intro, worst as in it's incredibly difficult to watch

It's probably going to win the topic though, even though it shouldn't.

Yeah, poke fun at the awkward laugh all you want, but it's intentional. Rewatch the scene and you'll hear the character's genuine laughter right after. I think people have just genuinely forgotten the scene/doing it as a meme.
