seems like everyone just uses phone these days. What happened to the time when computers were still a thing?

I still browse this site on a PC. But it seems 90% of people I know do it on a phone instead. Computers are like non-existent in their homes

i absolutely much prefer the pc and have 3 in my home, along with two laptops lol

I got a laptop that I setup like a pc with monitor, usb hub, keyboard, and mouse. But I only use it when Im trying to do multiple things at once or corralling my files.

I'm usually on the desktop when at home, unless I'm doing something in the kitchen/around the house. The phone is useful but not anywhere near as convenient as a computer.

exactly this. Computers are far better in every way than mobile apart from comfortability (which is also subjective... I dont find it ergonomic to lie on my bed the whole day with a phone?).

faster typing speeed, faster browsing and navigation, easier multi-tasking, gaming and being required to use computer for work anyway...etc

say you're going to be staying at home the whole day. How in the world do you lie on the bed the whole day like that? jeez, it's not only unhealthy but also makes it easy for you to fall asleep anytime.

Also if you work in any office job, you'll be sitting at a desk computer most of the day anyway

And I just typed that message to you in 10 seconds. It'd probably take you 60 seconds to type that same message on a phone...

typing speed is probably only a part of it for me and i'm measuring against me not you so wtf is this - i keyboardtype way faster than i texttype
but navigating the desktop is a million times more efficient for me than navigating a smartphone
popping between windows, tabs, messages, etc is just faster and easier

I use a laptop almost exclusively on GameFAQs. I'm home most days due to my family having medical problems and I don't like wearing my glasses so I stick to bigger screens. If I have to take them to a medical appointment then I'll use my phone as I wait in the car, but besides that I'm on my laptop.

When I'm at home, I'm usually on my desktop unless I'm watching TV in the living room (like right now). If I wasn't here, I'd be on my desktop posting this.

I can do a lot more with my desktop than on my phone since it's faster and I have 2 screens. Usually I have YouTube videos or movies playing on one screen while I'm on gamefaqs. Or I'm playing a PC game and I'll take a break by switching to the other monitor and browse gamefaqs or any other site, then switch back when I'm done. Can't do that on my phone (easily at least).

I don't think I've ever posted on GameFAQs from my phone. At the very least, I can say for sure the vast majority of my posting has always been from a PC. It's more of a time-killer / quick-wind-down between jobs than something I actively seek out doing, so chances are if I'm away from my PC I'm probably not interested in GameFAQs at that point in time.

I would note I don't really like typing out long shit on my phone, which may be a factor here.

As far as browsing, I use my phone. I have a work laptop, but still use my phone.

I'm probably going to get my PC from my parents soon because I wanted to use it for formatting stuff on my Raspberry Pi, and I was thinking about trying streaming.

Do you actually use it as a laptop? If you do, gaming laptops are a thing. You won't get top-of-the-line 8K 240fps out of them even on the most expensive models, but you can easily match a "typical" gaming desktop for a not much higher cost.

Of course, if you don't care about portability / battery backup, you may as well go desktop for upgradability.
