Wait a year and release the game on PC and PS5/Series X

The sad thing is that the PC version is absolutely fine technically, but is held back mostly by all the cuts they obviously made at the last minute

It doesnt really make sense since the game was supposed to be tailored for the ps4 and xbox one in the first place. So theres no excuse to be honest.

I've had literally the same thought. It would've obviously been financially bad for them considering all the preorders for those consoles, but they seemed like the type of company that would just either come out and say "these versions are canceled" or at the very least "These versions are delayed, but the PC and next gen console versions will be releasing"

It's pretty obvious that, at some point, they decided to move the graphics engine to next-gen tech (RTX, SSDs, etc) without really considering how to downscale it in ways last-gen could handle.

Rumor has it that CDPR was running out of money.

Internal interviews with the Devs had the original release schedule in Late 2022.

The CEO got panicky / greedy and pulled the trigger to get the money.

Yes, although to be fair it certainly runs a ridiculously significant amount better on PS5/XSX. Like 20-ish FPS on old consoles and a near-locked 60fps on new ones.

20 is being generous, it was hitting 15-18 alot of times on last gen consoles.

It's kind of strange how the game upscales to PS5/XSX, though.

PS5 is around 1200p and 60fps essentially locked except for driving

Series X has two modes:
Performance is 1080p locked at 60fps (with more drops than PS5, curiously)
Quality is 1500p to 1800p and improved assets, locked to 30fps without any drops

I've heard a lot of people note that the Quality mode on XSX looks significantly better than the other modes, but the 30fps sucks.

30 fps isn't worth the Image Quality IMO.

Modern Min standard should be 60 FPS or bust.

30 FPS is a joke IMO and shouldn't even be considered, especially for any action based games that require High Speed Accurate Finger Reflex.
