Not a fan that this feels like American Idol. Presidents, politicians are not figures of worship. They're there to serve you and be held accountable by the people. Just dont want to see a cult around Biden like he's the magic wand that will fix all our problems. I understand how a return to normalcy seems wonderful after the Trump nightmare, but people shouldnt go back to sleep just because it's good ol boring politics now. Scrutinize the Biden admin the same way we did Trump......

All politicians are bad, its just about finding the lesser evil that will do the least amount of damage. Biden isn't some hero and savior, but he pushes the treasonous piece of shit out the door. I don't get why people are so butthurt about the festivities with today. Not only did they have to do something different due to the pandemic, the majority of Americans just got out of an abusive relationship with the previous administration, and yes, this is fucking time to celebrate.

And not only did we see the festivities, we also saw Biden already do a bunch of shit today by signing all of those executive orders.

when Trump was criticized his supporters denied that those actions occurred, even when recorded video surfaced or trump himself confirmed it.

This is about where I'm at also. It's all the denial and lies that divided people so much during the last 4 years. It's the people who sucked up all of the bullshit and even though I'm pretty confident they knew deep down that the integrity of his words were a complete lie, they became too stubborn to admit it and believed it all so firmly. Own the fuck up and when the president you support is being a lying racist, say "I dont care I'll continue to support him" instead of saying "Noooo fake news, lamestream media" like a child. In order to be a cult of Biden, people would have to actually want Biden. There is a reason his campaign was I'm not trump. There is a reason he got ass blasted in the first 3 primaries because he was the least desired moderate. Than obama said hey, everyone but bernie and Warren step down so Biden can win some pluralities because ranked voting would not make our corporate daddies happy.

The only good thing you can say about Biden is, he isnt trump.

He doesn't want to solve healthcare by doing Medicare for all that the majority of americans support. Because that doesn't make the health insurance companies money like forcing every american to buy their service after they spent decades artificially raising health cost and getting Democrats to pass laws that prevent hospitals from charging different prices to insurance companies and uninsured patients. Surely that means the insurance companies don't get to negotiate their rate down right and pass it off as fake saving and fucking over the uninsured with 10x the bill?

He is the guy who looked at the black lives matter protest, where cops largely using laws he wrote and passed to target minorities, often use excessive force against minorities. Because that is how their police union trains them. That every situation should be treated as life threatening and you should be ready to kill. Bidens thought? Let's give the unions more money so they can better train the use of lethal force as the police union likes to do.

He's the same guy who sat next to obama and deported more people than trump. Don't have to keep them in cages if you just send them home where they left for a reason.

He's the same guy who thinks marijuana should be federally illegal still, even as more and more states say nah.

But Nancy Pelosi and Barack obama will be sure to tell you they are the progressives, I mean they affirmative actioned a black woman for vp! So when all those policies you want don't happen, when corporate Americans gets trillions in bailouts and citizens get a few pennies in the dollar. When trumps standard deduction gets reduced and you pay more in taxes to fund those corporations who use tax havens to skirt their responsibility. When the IRS remains gutted for funding so they don't bother auditing the 1% who are grossly underpaying their obligations. Remember, they have a black woman for vice president. They truly are progressive!

I can understand the concern TC, this election has proven to be a eye opener on how extreme politics have become so its hard to say just how many rational people actually are in this country based on a percentage.

I don't want this presidency to be another cult too, that is something that needs to be avoided.

At the same time it shouldn't reach levels of opinions based on lies like Fox News did for Trump.

Its going to be near impossible to keep things civil unless something is done about Fox News, and the other National Networks.
