Honestly, you're in prison for a reason. Not getting things like good meals is your punishment. Why else would you be in prison? To reform? Where's the justice in that? Why should prisoners get to live in luxury? Might as well just let them go and have them get therapy sessions once a week. Smh.

Ultimately irrelevant. Prison shouldn't be about making them suffer needlessly and rather rehabilitation and someone like this can definitely be rehabilitated. Meeting a food preference seems fine and I have no issue with any prisoner being allowed a choice in their food.

They can be rehabilitated without ridiculous excess. They should be glad that the only punishment they get for literal terrorism is a year or two in prison. Anyone else would have been killed on sight during a hostile invasion of a high value government facility

There's a part of me that thinks criminals (and for the sake of the argument, criminals that have committed crimes against victims) should definitely receive sufficient punishment, but there's also another part of me wondering how effective a rehabilitation-focused prison system is, and if it's really that much more effective like Scandinavian anecdotes suggest, then logically that's what countries should be shooting for so recidivism rates are much lower.

But hell, if y'all think a requested organic diet is supposed to be some sort of reward... we're never going to get there. Lol

It's not about a reward, fuck dude this isnt hard. The whole point of prison is you had freedom and choices and chose to fuck it up, so much like a child, you eat what you're served. Allowing prisoners to say "Nah I'm not eating that" is the first step in losing control and reinforcing their belief they didnt do anything wrong or that rules dont apply to them.

I dont think Muslims should be fed pork or if someone has allergies obviously accommodate. Theres no valid argument for a terrorist with a made up fucking diet to get organic food that's more expensive than what everyone else eats, that's insane. Shouldnt have stormed the Capitol and been an accessory to murder

They're not "losing control". You're completely caught up in the emotional aspect because they granted a request to a prisoner. The dude is still in prison, his rights and freedom have still been heavily restricted, his life is going to suck ass whenever he gets released, and the food probably still sucked anyway
