Real ones are more beautiful but I love how low maintenance the artificial one we have is. It has all the lights built in and is 3 big pieces to assemble. My cats dont chew on it and throw up green stuff either. Not having to sweep constantly is also nice.

Real vs fake is the same as charcoal vs propane for me.

Real/charcoal is objectively better as far as I'm concerned, but fake/propane is just so damn easy that it's hard to argue against as a go to.

This. I barely celebrate Christmas, so my 5-minute setup artificial tree is about as much work as I'm willing to put towards it at this point.

artificial or alternative. i've got a living rosemary 'tree' in my living room right now that'll go right in the ground after christmas. did a pineapple tree a few years back, ended up eating the pineapple and pulling off the top to plant. that's in another pot wintering over in my utility room...
