There's a DC equivalent to it with a YA novel called "I am not Starfire" and it's literally an author self insert as a lesbian goth girl, it hasn't came out yet but you can bet it's going to get pan handled hard when it comes out. Like i"m pretty left leaning, but even I know when something tries to hard to pander. Another one is that recent remake of the horror movie Black Christmas that took a simple stalker slasher movie and made it about empowered women defeating satanic frat boys while everyone delivers really cringy dialogue about toxic masculinity. But even that is questionable. Rarely do things actually fail because they were made more inclusive, the public at large doesn't typically react badly to that despite what crazy people on the internet will tell you. Stuff like Ghostbusters, or even that Black Christmas remake, are just bad even outside of the social politics stuff.
