Poll of the Day > Almost done with my school semester. What goals do you have?

I can't wait to finish my Master's degree. It's my last educational goal.

I have to do the TEFL certification course over winter break to get that out of the way.

After those two things, I think I will feel satisfied with my educational goals and not feel like I'm slacking lol

What goals are you working toward right now? Or do you just live day to day without long term goals?

I want more experience teaching abroad, then I eventually want to get a DELTA (it's basically the next level of a CELTA and opens doors to more jobs). There's one to three month courses for it and I'll probably do it in Prague. I also want to go for my Master's in the next few years. I already know what programs I'm going for, just need to build my portfolio. I do have vague ideas about one particular PhD program, but it's not a priority and life might take me other directions before I pursue it.

Literally spent the last week or so working on my thesis proposal (about 20 pages in length consisting of lit review and hypothesis). First I'm gonna get my masters, and hopefully by then the pandemic will be put under some semblence of control. Hoping to at least get vaccinated by then. Then we'll see where to go from there

I really wish I could do that. I feel like I'd be happier. I stress a lot about my future and what I want my life to be like long term and I'm just not at that point yet.

I've been offered jobs as an ESL teacher in the States, so once I'm done teaching abroad, if none of my other goals pan out, I can fallback on that. I still need to get credentials to teach in the States, but I'm not too worried about that. I also plan on doing private tutoring. When I got my CELTA the two trainers had definitely made a career of TEFL, but it's not for everyone. I could also eventually become a TEFL trainer in the States when I want to settle down. I've got lots of options, but essentially I plan on sticking with teaching if writing and other ventures don't work out.

IDK I have a decent job and a house now. I'd like to make more friends and meet a woman but I don't think I can view those as transactionally as career/education goals.

I want a new job but I literally just want a higher paycheck and don't have any real direction towards a career that could be genuinely fulfilling. Just doing more of the same for more money but I know I'll still hate it

Finishing up this semester at school as well. I want to continue doing well in my masters program and hopefully get my prior employer okayed as my practicum site for next year. I'll get to make pretty decent money again with more certainty of making even more once I'm fully licensed.

I also want to get back on my workout routine again and eat consistently healthier.

I think that's it for now. My girlfriend and I talk about kids and marriage in the next few years which sounds nice. I'd like us both to have at least one full year together where our careers are stable and we can travel a bit.

The latter is what I figure. It's a stable job and once you have experience it's not difficult outside of the expected difficulties that would come in a path like that. I'm looking maybe to become a librarian at an international school somewhere and live abroad.

Try doing what my girlfriend and I are. We started by just doing 100 squats. We are gonna do that for 30 days and hopefully we will just develop the habit again.

I would like to complete writing and illustrating my 4th kids book. Already got it half written while I was on my 2 week quarantine.

Start earning six figures, move into a bigger house. Expand my collection of models and toys. Maybe have a kid? Idk.

Career wise I like where I'm at, so mostly my goals are fitness related. Namely I'm trying to squat five 45 lb plates on each side of the bar. I'm up to four 45s, a 25, and a 5 each. I'm also planning on biking the GAP trail from western Pennsylvania to Maryland next summer so I'm trying to be able to bike 40 miles in one day (the trail would be 40 miles x 4 days though) current best is 26 so I got some work to do there

I have one more semester of grad school, so hopefully I can graduate in May. My next goal after that is to get a job, preferably locally or something I can do remotely, because my girlfriend isn't graduating for another year. But we're not totally against the idea of a sorta-distant job (in a large Texas city, most likely) as those are only a couple of hours away and a job is a job lmao. along with that, I'm apartment hunting but it's hard to know what you're looking for when you don't know your budget or even what city you're looking into.

I've got a fair amount of student loans and credit debt, so hopefully whatever job I get pays enough that I can pay those down.

beyond school and work, I've given up soda and I want to stick to that. I've also started going on walks, so I'd like to do that. I also picked up the guitar a few months ago and I play 2-4 hours a week. I'd like to get better at that.

Oh yeah I recently got into Pokmon so another goal of mine is to register them all in my Pokmon Home pokedex. That's fairly long-term though

Run a nine minute mile by the end of January. Fastest I can go now is 9 minutes 30 something seconds.

I just got one of the bundles from costco

Im very happy today and probably tomorrow but Idk if I have any goals now

Probably just keep focusing on trying to have 500k in stocks and then figure out the next goal as my long-term goal.

Short term goal is to find a new shorter term goal.

I just finished paying off my truck. So my next goal is finish paying of a credit card and buying a house within the next year. Hopefully, that all goes well, but we'll see...
