To play the Devil's advocate here: Her argument is that trans doesn't stand out. That people don't make a big deal about it. We see ads with clearly trans models but nobody cares. Isn't that what you are striving for? A society in which trans, black, gay or whatever is such a non issue? A billboard with a trans model is so commonplace that nobody cares. A culture beyond the concept of gender norms.

that is funny tbh. people wanna be treated as equals like everyone else but ONLY after they've made a huge life changing statement to signify they "aren't" like everyone else.

CD Projekt Red are the best developers around in my opinion. This whole woke enough stuff is baloney. They are making a game that is true to the universe it's trying to create vs pandering. That is woke. I'd rather respect a developer that stands on it's own merits. How are these developers supposed to create anything when they are just pandering constantly?

Yes

Ubisoft panders. Mass Effect was a great series until Andromeda and they started pandering to the masses because of EA. That's corporate BS and real racism. Witcher stands on it's own merits and doesn't sell as much but is much more true to the world it's trying to create. So is this and will sell better. I'm tired of cheese in games. It's insulting. This a much better game.The LOU2 was a flawed game because it was trying to too hard. It came off as that. This doesn't. It's real. They aren't trying to do anything except make a world that is true to the world it's trying to create. Some people are going to have issues with the truth regardless.

People are sure gleefully ready to show what kind of people they are just because in a positive review for a game it was mentioned trans issues could perhaps be handled better.

seems like the actual problem is there isn't any quest that directly interacts with the trans model being objectified that humanizes her struggles

i feel like you could just write that and have the issue covered

and we could all agree that's a flaw--just like all the games that feature a sexy woman on the cover who proceeds to not be in the game at all

Because it's really not that important of an issue. So sorry that CDPR didn't re-record all dialogue with every single pronoun under the sun and put their staff through even more weeks of crunch time just so the few dozen trans people that'll play this game can hear the characters call them "they".

Know what makes a great character? When their personality isn't defined by what's in their pants. Isn't it the point that anyone could be trans? That you shouldn't need a character to shout out their gender for literally no reason than to let players know that your company is inclusive?
