LRB was officially born in 1930 in what was was then, Lyallpur, British India. He may have been born earlier as another family member claims that he obtained a masters degree by the year 1948. That would only be possible if he was born in 1927. Irregardless, LRB grew up in difficult times. In 1947, the partition of India occurred and his family had to flee what was now Pakistan and go to India as he was a Hindu family. LRB lost many family members in this time as there was much violence as people were moving. While waiting for a train, there was an attack so LRB hid in a tree to avoid being shot. He said he was grazed by a bullet. Over the next few decades, LRB married and had two kids. He worked as a government worker in India up until the early 80s. With pressure from his son and younger brother, LRB came to California in 1986. For a short while, LRB worked as a security worker. He retired sometime in the 1990s. Unfortunately, sometime in the early 2000s, his wife was diagnosed with Alzheimers and passed away in 2007. LRB did not exercise very much and unfortunately slowed ended up losing many of his motor skills over the coming years. In his final years, he became bedridden and lost the capacity to say more than a few words at a time. In roughly 2016, LRB had to be admitted to a nursing home when it was apparent he needed 24/7 care. His condition deteriorated in the nursing home and hit a low point when he was diagnosed with Covid-19. At this point, he weighed roughly 80 pounds and it became evident that he would not live much longer.
