We havent had a good tipping argument in a while, so...

With more and more people using Uber Eats and other such services, how would you top on an order like this?

Entree: $16.00
Drink: $3.00
Subtotal: $19.00
Tax: $1.72
New Total: $20.72

Delivery fee: $4.00

Grand total: $24.72

These are completely made up numbers. Lets assume completely average service. The food came in a reasonable amount of time, they got your order right, etc.

How much do you tip, if anything?

The driver doesn't get the delivery fee, so what you would tip without it.

if the fee upsets you, don't order delivery.

Delivery Fee is the app scalping on top and the employees you'd want to get it don't. Consider it part of your total, so you'd tip 6 dollars in this case.

i wouldve rounded up from the 20.72 to 25
but that fucking delivery fee....im still gonna round it up to 25.

its a big reason why i dont use those services...i feel tipping is reserved for a dine in experience, where you are taken care of and treated as a guest in a home. delivery is still deserving of tips, but i just cant afford to pay your bosses 5 bucks for bringing me 4 dollars worth of food

I usually stick with 5 dollars regardless because I feel like its the same amount of work regardless how much I spent. The app I use has a percentage anyway and most of the time, 25% is around 5 dollars and I tend to stick around with that. Although a few times my 20% was around 8 so I just went with 8. I guess you could say I mostly tip 20 to 25% in average.

As a waiter, I always tip.

I usually just tip what Door Dash recommends. If it's under $5, I tip $5.

I remember trying to order something on grubhub and it was fucking redonk

Not only did they have the regular menu prices listed higher than the actual store, but on top of that there was a "service fee" a delivery fee and a tip.

The order would have been 20 bucks if i were to carry out, but with delivery and all fees included it ended up totaling like 33 bucks (i think the default tip was set at 15%).

Not today

Just do a cash tip. Then drivers don't have to report the tip and can keep 100% of it instead of paying tax on it giving the government money to fund their invasion of other countries.
