and I've been seeing that particular number everywhere... like 250,000 people have died to it in the US alone. There's like 330 million people here. 99.98 percent of 330 million is 329,934,000. Subtract that from 330 million and you get 66,000. 250,000 is way more than 66,000. And that 66,000 figure assumes that everyone in the states has had Covid 19 which we know isn't the case

So what gives?

Too many people do.

Polio had a 99.5% survival rate, because being permanently crippled, but alive, is "surviving".

1 million have died
7 billion in the world
Seems about right.
Its probably even higher.

We know this.

Death rate was 2% last I checked, and the reason for the discrepancy is they're assuming a lot of people get it, but don't get tested because the symptoms aren't severe enough.

You do know that nowhere near 7 billion people have been infected though, right?

Yeah, too bad we can't base arguments and numbers off of pure speculation with no evidence

Beyond that, 15% or so survive but have complications for weeks or months afterward.

Is there a percentage or rate out there that tells us how many people have lasting effects from this virus (either death or permanent injuries/symptoms)? Because I think THAT is the rate we should be looking at, not just death rate.
