I've lived in Texas and Louisiana.

I wouldn't even call the majority of Texas a "southern state". That would probably only be reserved for portions of upper East Texas. And even then, it's really just its own thing.

Personally, I'd opt for either Texas, Virginia, Florida or North Carolina. Then there's also West Virginia, which I have a huge soft spot for. People tend to be divided with whether they consider WV to be in the North or the South... but hey, the Census considers it the South!
Kentucky should be avoided at all costs, especially Louisville, and I also don't have much fondness for Alabama outside of Huntsville (which is pretty damn cool tbh). --- The music was thud-like. The music was... thud-like. ... Copied to Clipboard!
