Private or public. Did you have to pay for them in your school?

My school was income-driven either full priced, reduced, or free.

Full price lunch was like $2.50 or $3.00 if you got a sweet tea.
Reduced was like $.50 or $1.00 if you got a sweet tea.
Free was free and you could only get a single carton of milk.

There were also 2 ala carte lines that you could get shitty red baron pizza, nachos with shitty cheese, and cookies. Sometimes they had brownies too.

Edit: this was also over a decade ago.

It's based on income where I live, I had to pay but other kids got reduced prices or free lunches.

If your family income is less than $x/year you get free lunches
If your family income is between $x/year and $y/year you pay half price
If your family income is over $y/year you pay full price

No, I think it was like $1.50 in grade school, but up to $4.00 by the time I got to high school.

It's just cuz public schools hardly get any real funding. Pretty sure most things in the classrooms are stuff the teachers bought themslves.

elementary through high school it was based on income. most people made below the limit so it was either free or reduced.

one year in las vegas had to pay out of pocket for lunch. i was poor so i had to bring food from home.

I think my High School ended up having free lunches for everyone, but my lunches were always free anyway.

But yeah, based on income afaik.

Got approved for all kids 18 and below for the next 4 years in my area, and then they have to get approved again. Still doing school lunches right now, but they come and quickly pick it up and go back home to eat.
