And it was directly preceded by disco. Which I would classify differently, so Im not counting it. Popular music has ALWAYS been "trashy" relative to the time. The Beatles didn't want to "hold your hand" they wanted to pound ass, and it was no mystery what they were singing about to anyone listening.
