Been looking for games with quality combat and I read this has deep brawler combat. I'm just iffy because it's a Rockstar game and from my experience combat mechanics usually arent their strong suit and they tend to feel bloated and waste my time a lot so I'm not sure if I should expect a tight satisfying experience or not.

I don't know all about those criticisms towards Rockstar games, but The Warriors is great. It's probably the best game based on a movie both for the awesome fighting gameplay and fitting in perfectly with the movie in tone and spirit.

If you're thinking it's going to be like RDR2 or something, it's not.

I downloaded this a few months ago and havent played it recently, but...

If you dont like those early Rockstar Games games such as Grand Theft Auto III, Grand Theft Auto Vice City, Grand Theft Auto San Andreas etc. then you probably wouldnt like this. It plays very similar (without the vehicles) in terms of the combat and sometimes the controls can be a little frustrating (especially when tagging), but its a decent game if you can look past some of those minor issues.

I liked Vice City (in spite of clunky controls) but I havent been able to get into GTA 3 and San Andreas. I dont recall any brawler combat in those games so I'm not how it could be similar.

Well, there is a bit of melee in GTA, but its more pronounced in this game than it is in those is all Im saying.

Still a top-tier movie-licensed game.

If it has awesome fighting gameplay then that should be enough for me. I just dont want a fighting system that feels half assed, or shallow.
