It is good but obviously he can do much more, hell even if he did this for every major city in America it say something but this even sounds like one of those headlines "see I do give to charity look at me!"

the issue is we should not be relying on the whims of capricious vampires who may one day decide they want to improve their image

we should be a functioning society

INSTEAD OF GIVING MONEH TO PEOPLE IN NEED OR INDIRECTLY BY PHILANTHROPY GIVE MONEH TO THE GOVERNMENT.

We see how well that always works.

I agree, but I also think it's stupid to act like this isn't going to accomplish anything when it's actually a pretty big deal. Ideally we shouldn't have to rely on stuff like this, but in reality we do

The fact that people need to rely on a charitable billionaire to send their kids to preschool is bad and signs of a education system that needs substantial reform.

Preschool is just a daycare that feigns teaching your kids something.
Parents who don't have to stay home because the kids are preschool, can enter the labor pool.
A larger unskilled labor pool puts downward pressure on unskilled wages.

Also there's probably a sweet taxbreak in there somewhere.

If we redistributed bozo Bezos' wealth we could pay for the complete education through college of every child on earth.

that isn't true or how equity ownership works and you know it

you can be honest about why we can't redistribute all of his wealth (amazon would then have to elect a new board as 1 share = 1 vote for company leadership, and his leadership of the company is facilitated entirely by his control of so many shares) without using hyperbole

it'd almost certainly be disastrous for amazon as competing businesses would be buying up his shares on the open market as part of the conversion of shares to cash--which is why his wife received non-voting shares in their divorce--but statements like this are the sorts of lies that trump would use

Wasn't a study done that found out there was absolutely no difference in learning ability or intelligence between kids who went to preschool and kids who didn't? If that's true then this money would be better spent helping out elementary school kids.
