He means normalcy as in not having to worry about it. There can be a sense of normalcy right now, that's what Americans who refuse to try and fix this problem don't realize. Not 100% normal, but I would say 85% is realistic. I live in western NY and things are basically the same right now as they were a year ago, just with a mask. People are outside, people are in stores, people are at parks, everyone is doing what they usually do but with with personal space and a mask. Life is normal right now. True normalcy is what he is talking about, we need a vaccine for that but a real sense of normalcy can happen right now if people stopped being selfish and stupid.

We have that in Florida, too. People in malls, in parks, at beaches, at restaurants. No mask, but it's Florida.

I live in Saratoga County, New York which has about 230k people, things are pretty "normal" here. Life is actually good right now, almost too good. I worry some people are getting a little complacent.

All it takes is a visitor.

I do belive that even summer next year would still be too early for a return life before covid.

Bars and nightclubs are closed, restaraunts are at 50% (if they're even doing dine-in at all), a lot of employees nationwide are still working from home. This isn't normal with a mask, no matter how much saying that reassures you.
