NY being hit hard in the early days of the pandemic but bringing down numbers significantly should have been a warning, and the fact that they are keeping numbers low is absolutely a success story

the fact that three months later, Florida is experiencing the same spike of cases and deaths, shows that they learned absolutely nothing from New York, which as a state has gotten the virus under control and kept it under control to this day

New York was hit hard and was one of the first states to get hit. They were essentially a guinea pig, the country didn't know what to do. Even with that, they got the virus under control and are seeing record lows in every thing while the rest of the country is getting manhandled. These are facts whether you want to accept it or not. The fact that these other stats had 3-5 months before they were hit and not get it under control quicker than NY did is laughable.

Newsflash, this is a novel coronavirus. You and Mr Paul need to look up what novel means. It was a new virus that we didn't know how to treat. The entire world has learned so much in the past few months, we didn't know how to treat people with the virus. Even ventilators, what's suppose to be the hail mary, played a part in so much death. If you can't knowledge that the lack of knowledge didn't play a part, then you are agenda driven. But even with that, NY is under control.

As someone who literally assigns cause of death and reports deaths to the state department of health, the number of deaths due to covid-19 are clearly under-counted.

it's this kind of rampant misinformation that finally helped me break the illusion that the GOP and conservatives know what they're talking about. I simply have too much education and first-hand experience in this very subject to fall for the deliberate echo chamber fueled misinformation campaign.

Nearly every time they bring up epidemiology, it's blatantly wrong and taken out of context. A perfect example is Trump boasting about case-fatality rate on the news a few days ago. Food for the ignorant.

We are talking about an Administration that set up a task force to give guidelines for states to reopen, and when none of the states met those guidelines, Trump tweeted for followers to "liberate" the states that weren't reopening yet (because they were following his own fucking guidelines).

He didn't lie about masks. He clearly stated that the reason people shouldn't wear masks is because healthcare providers needed them. He was going by the current information we had at the time.

All you're doing is avoiding the reality that Trump deliberately disregarded Fauci's lockdown and reopening advice, and the states that did it first are now completely fucked.
