i've been working hard and studying to make sure i'm comfortable and know what to do in most situations/cards/positions
0.5/0.25 blinds 8 handed, i'm in the SB with a stack of 45.86 (50 was my buy in) UTG1 calls UTG2 folds MP1 raises to 2.50 MP2 calls Button folds I have pocket 7s (spade, club) and decide to set mine since I don't expect a 3bet (and i already have a quarter in the middle so i got a small discount lol) BB folds UTG1 calls flop comes: 7d, Jh, Kh what a nice wet flop....even though I'm first and expect to get good action on this, I decided to open up the betting and bet 5.77 into a 10.5 pot UTG1 calls, MP1 (the initial raiser) shoves all in 26.75 MP2 shoves all in 15.95 I have both covered. I figure someone might have hit 2 pair (KJ), top pair top kicker (AK) and/or is on a draw (hearts flush) Since I have to be ahead at the moment (I would be behind JJJ or KKK on this flop), and I'm never folding a set at this point, I shove all in UTG1 folds (he had 28.03 behind) So MP1 (initial raiser) had AK with the Ace being a heart and MP2 has Q8h (flush draw) Even if the flush comes (only 30% chance) I also have a 30% chance to hit the full house, so I don't mind my call at all turn comes...its red....and it's a heart. my heart sinks down to my stomach and i start thinking about what i'm going to drink tonight but then I look closer...and it's the 7 of hearts O_O so even though MP2 hit the flush, I hit the quads making me unbeatable here Just for the sake of comedy, the river comes out another heart, giving MP1 (initial raiser) the nut flush....which didn't mean squat so I won $53 and another $20 quads table bonus glad to see all my hard work paying off as i overall tripled up in ~100 hand session lol --- ...
