The full tilt into the paper stuff being the main driving force of the game isn't as charming as they want it to be, and it doesn't particularly look appealing as a "Paper Mario action adventure." If everything was like that Gooper Blooper fight, I might have been more interested. I don't get why they ever stuck to random battles if they wanted to innovate. What's the story behind them? Does the main bad guy just sprinkle magic dust on them that makes them come alive and then you have to fight them? Is it honestly, seriously as depressingly dull as I imagine it to be?
