In 2007, the literal best Radeon GPU you could buy (Radeon 3870) ran Crysis at 12fps at 1080p. The best GPU on the market (8800 GTX) ran it at 13fps. Hell, just look at this You had to freaking SLI the 8800 GTX to get 1600x1200 above 30fps.
