Have enough points from this little vegas mobile game for a free night at one of the two. Can't seem to decide which.

Anyone have any insight? I get the sense that Aria is more "modern," whereas Bellagio is more like "classic vegas."

(will be spending two other nights at the Wynn, this one is more of a tack-on to extend the trip)

Aria is indeed more modern. Bellagio is a little more upscale. Theyre both upscale though. Youd def find the younger party crowd at the aria

That would make sense

I'm leaning bellagio after research. Seems the only real complaint about bellagio is foot traffic from non-guests. Plus staying in a fountain view room would kick ass

They say aria's got the edge food-wise though, but they're so close that we would just walk there if we really wanted.

Pools seem to be rated similarly.

Bellagio casino seems to have the edge. I've also seen a few people say they end up winning more on bellagio slots than aria ones, but that could just be coincidence and small sample size for them.

Sounds great, now I'm craving mexican.

I get the sense that aria's got the edge room-wise as well with the floor-to-ceiling windows, but the view seems to be lacking. Whereas belagio may be a bit smaller, but a fountain view would be so dope

Yeah both are very close to the strip, so I'm chalking these up as a wash.

I really don't thing there's a wrong decision though, but there's a lot of research still to be done about what's open and what isn't in terms of bars and restaurants. Although if one of the hotels (unlikely) had most things shut down entirely, it's vegas - just walk to another one.

Love the proximity to Caesar's too. My girlfriend will get a kick out of the little aquarium in the shopping area.

EDIT: Found Bellagio has a conservatory too, she loves that stuff.

Room wise, for sure Aria (every room is a corner room iirc)

Casino wise, Bellagio.

theyre both center of the strip (aria tucked back a little bit but w/e) so either way youre in a good spot for walking the strip. love waking through the cosmo, which has the dope late night pizza place and the verbena drink at the chandelier bar.

and obviously up to you and the girl on restaurants, theres just too many good ones.

Bellagio is certainly much more of the Vegas experience tho

I stayed at Aria. It was great. The room is all automated and you control everything through an iPad, like the blinds, lights, TV, reservations, etc.

There's an air train that connects Aria, Bellagio, and an upscale shopping mall all together too, so traversing through the strip is really easy.

Vegas is always crowded, so maybe instead of staying in a crowded place, it would make more sense to stay in the quieter option, to be able to retreat to somewhere quieter

The Tops is the safe place to go in more ways than one, but Gommorah gets my recommendation if you're interested in something more than gambling. Don't order the Special at Ultra Luxe, no matter how savory the aroma.

You may think I'm joking, but in these UNCERTAIN TIMES they're the only Vegas hotels your ass should be visiting *wags finger*

I get the sense that the walk to the strip is basically a wash from either hotel. Not really a concern of mine at this point.

Think this is a little too far for my tastes -- for context, the plan is one night here at Aria or Bellagio (or vdara), and three nights at wynn. Having one night at a central location like one of these three, followed by three at the wynn (which is further north) is the right play.

Which brings me to a different topic, any thoughts on vdara? I didn't think to include it since it's further away (and the cost for a comp room in in-game tokens is cheaper, so I just assumed it was less nice), but more googling seems to be yielding this place having elite rooms.

I never stayed at two different places in one trip. Sounds cool. Aria is basically right in the middle of the strip and Wynn is at the beginning of it. Close to the fashion show mall, neighboring the venetian shops and a gondola ride there on the water. Close enough to the forum shops at Caesar. The volcano at the mirage if it still goes off and the pirates at TI

I would go with the aria and Wynn. Sounds like a good plan. Bellagio will be more like the wynn than aria

If you want more of a private feel I would go for it. It's part of the City Center block of casinos/hotels so you could easily eat at all the good restaurants, shop, enjoy nightlife, etc. at Cosmo/Aria while going back to a more homely feel.

Not completely sure but I think Vdara is a mixture of condos and hotel rooms which is why I think they tried to make it less noisy than the surrounding areas

I like that idea. Spending the first night somewhere quiet after spending all day out and about (most likely - best flight time/rate has us getting in at like 9AM so we're certainly going to be wandering around most of the day) is appealing.

Question -- is there a better way to get from vdara to the Wynn besides walking? Doing that with all our luggage sounds like a bitch, but at the same time, calling an uber just doesn't feel right

Nah I don't think there's any better way to get to Wynn. There's the monorail but it doesn't stop at Wynn, closest it seems to get is the Harrah's/Linq station and it costs money to use so you'd still end up walking a lot.

Follow-up more about covid -- as a local, what exactly is the locals' taste on tourism at the moment? The plan was to head out in september, but obviously that is subject to change. Do locals think the tourists are helping or hurting vegas's economy given this atmosphere?

I like Vdara since it doesn't have a casino, so it seemed to me a nice and quieter location. But the pool isn't that good there.

OP, I recommend staying at Aria and simply walking through Bellagio. Most tourists make time to visit the conservatory/botanical garden there anyway

@PatrickMahomes Unless you work there, locals tend to avoid the strip so you won't get too many complaints. As far as tourists helping the economy, I would say it's there but obviously not to the full extent. I know people need to work to make a living but if it were honestly up to me, I would tell people to stay away, especially with how it's spiking.
