like, is there a minimum amount of strength exercises you need to do so the body builds muscle? will it make muscle up to a point, and then make the rest of it fat? if so how do you balance that?

The body has limits on how much muscle it can build per day. If you eat too many calories, the rest will turn into fat instead of additional muscle.

It does. Fat is the body's preferred way of storing excess calories. You can work your butt off, and some of the extra calories would still go to fat.

You gain some degree of fat from bulking no matter what. This is normal. Regulate it by doing cardio and not eating exceptionally poorly.
I encourage people to do more volume and extra isolation work when gaining weight. This is your opportunity to take advantage of growing and encourage more muscle protein synthesis, so might as well make it count. When you're losing weight you should keep the weight heavy and cut out the excess so you maintain what you previously built. --- Currently playing Xenoblade Chronicles 2, Hearthstone Training log: https://powpowpunishment.blogspot.com ...
