I've done it once but honestly the main obstacle is space to work in and time to do it.

I would do it, same with oil changes, but I live in a apartment and there's no room to work on your car. It's pretty easy to do when you can just YouTube a tutorial.

Done it many times. Hardest point for me were seized bolts. These were a lifesafer:

It's not that hard, even assuming you only have it jacked up off the ground. At least then you can sit and work on it unlike changing oil or messing with an exhaust. But I also have a friend with a lift so car work is significantly easier.
