one of those special interest groups is ALEC (American legislative exchange council). Theyre hard right evil fucks

This is why "simple majority" was a mistake.
3/4 majority to pass a law, with 1/3 minority to repeal a law, would be a huge step in advancing liberty and common interest.

I remember seeing this back when it was published. Feels like something that should be a pretty fucking big deal but no one really talks about it. People will believe in all sorts of nutty conspiracies before they confront the perversion of our system that's out in the open.

I've been saying this for years but nobody cares. How can people believe in a socialized system if government has this much potential for corruption? The government and this corporatocracy aren't two separate things--it's one thing and it's not Capitalism.

Gut the first amendment, and its right to blaspheme also goes away.

I agree, people not paying attention to what's going on in government and being shocked about things that have been going on for their entire lives is definitely a big things that's wrong with America.

These guys are a big problem too. They create legislation templates for the government but also work with businesses with "special interests"
