Never seen a more flawed and accepted system in my life

winning team wins, keeps their weapons, and gets more cash to get even better weapons.

losing team usually dies and loses all weapons. Has to buy new ones, with less cash. So often times its hard to make a comeback. And usually results in teammates quitting, especially in lower ranks

please explain how this system is balanced

You start on equal ground, just don't lose the round.
You should start in equal ground during every round

Is CSGO still popular. I'd like to dive back into it at one point

I believe in CS (at least back when I played), multiple losses in a row would result in the losing team getting more money than the winning team. Not much of a counter-argument I know, but eh at least thats something.

If you lose a round, you just have to save for one round, next round you should have enough cash to buy whatever you need. With some luck you can pilfer a weapon off a dead enemy. CS also rewards you with cash for kills and completing the objective which helps even it out too.

Yeah the system is somewhat unbalanced, but theres also nothing like making a comeback on a save round.
