If that was your password and you told the internet that... It would probably take closer to 23 seconds to hack.

Doesn't it depend on the search method? A dictionary-based brute-forcing seems like it'd crack it way faster than, say, every letter individually.

Anyhow it estimates 93 trillion years for one of my more typical passwords

According to that site twelve random letters takes three weeks, twelve random numbers takes 25 seconds.
Which is nonsense. A brute force attack would not differentiate between the two, unless the hacker knows beforehand it's exclusively numbers.

I ran a couple of old passwords I don't use anymore, 2 million years was the shortest. My personal password protocols work fine it seems.

My PSN password would take a 100 years to bruteforce, which I think is a tad more believable than some of the numbers posted here.

Maybe for some high schooler who
for whatever reason decided to try to hack your password individually instead of getting into the system itself and dumping a few million passwords at once.

You don't want your password to be "password", your username or "baseball" and those are pretty much the only requirements that are needed. Hell, most modern systems lock you out after a stupidly small amount of wrong guesses anyway.

I remember i got super serious about my passwords and used a tool like this to make super secure passwords, saved in a password manager.

Still, it's hard to explain to people when they come over why I need to type in the wifi password. It's full of letters numbers characters, it's just easier if I so it lol
