We have certain areas where cell phones are banned for security reasons but outside those areas you are free to use them.

I let the students play on their phone if work is done or doing lunch but we had too many kids meeting up in the bathroom and vaping so we had to stop that.

On the production floor, no. It's a PCI violation and can net the company a big fine if it's caught. Off the production floor it's ok. No tablets or e books either.

My work it is allowed if you are helping a customer such as using an app to find the product the customer is looking for. Personal use is not allowed unless you are on break.
