Some good news for today. This is perhaps the most significant attempt at real reform I've ever seen in an Islamic theocracy.
https://www.bbc.com/news/world-africa-53379733 After more than 30 years of Islamist rule, Sudan has outlined wide-reaching reforms including allowing non-Muslims to drink alcohol, and scrapping the apostasy law and public flogging. The latest changes come after a restrictive public order law that controlled how women acted and dressed in public was repealed in November. --- "History Is Much Like An Endless Waltz. Good for Sudan. Good that most countries are trying to progress and be better when some countries like America are regressing.

well, apparently TIL it wasn't allowed for non-muslims to drink alcohol... Sudan was never a tourist destination and I believe it has an even higher % of Muslims than a place like Saudi Arabia so it makes sense. That being said some of these changes put them "ahead" of even Saudi Arabia and the UAE so it's a pretty big deal. --- https://imgur.com/bbRWLI8 https://imgur.com/A0BErSV https:/i.imgur.com/S1m3po4.jpg https://imgur.com/7fCcfko ...
