Just looking for some thoughts and discussion.

I beat DQ1 long ago, and also beat DQ9 when it first came out. I recently bought 1-3 on the Switch. Beat each of them. I started 4 yesterday, and I suddenly think Im going though all of them in order.

Id previously played 4 & 5, but never beat them. Same with 7... that one really tested my patience. Dumped a ton of hours into it, but I dont think I was even very far yet.

I dont remember much about 9 at all, so I cant comment on it (I only remember thinking it was fun). DQ1 is fine, for all of the flaws that come with being the first game. I liked 2 a decent amount, and actually had a lot of fun with 3.

Curious what others have to say about the series.

Only one I've played through fully is IX.

owned IV, V, VI, and XI though.

Played through a decent sized chunk of XI but stopped in the Library area

I've only played 7, 8 and 11.

All 3 were great games but if I have to pick it's gonna be 11.

I really want to check out more of the series.

I've played through some version or another of 1-7, as well as part of 8 (would like to finish that game sometime) and a very small part of 9 (which didn't grip me at all)

i've beaten every single one of them

i'd for sure say XI if it ended after part two but part 3 was such a disappointment
that may make 7 and 8 edge it out

5 is worthy of the conversation as well

Square Enix has made several comments about how theyd love to translate it and release it in the west, but theyve never done anything to really show that this is at all likely. The game has been around since 2012, and was ported to the Wii U, Switch, Windows, iOS, and Android. But all in Japanese.

There's also been recurring comments about re-engineering the game into offline single-player.

I kind of want to try to play it even though I won't understand it. It just looks so cozy.
