I've been aware of Phil for like almost 11 years now. I fall in and out with watching his show. I remember when he was just 4-5 minutes and covered pop culture from his bed room. I remember when Sourcefed launched.

I really like what he's trying to do as a news network, although I don't actually watch his stuff much anymore, because I've already read all the news by the time he's uploaded.

He's one of those people that used to do a certain kind of content and then did a complete 180 when they found out there was a niche audience.

Nowadays he's just a guy that speaks for a few minutes about some shit that happens with other Youtubers and shit, and then gives his own input about it, that's it.

Before I think he was a regular vlogger, showing what he did day to day and shit.

I think.

I've never been subbed to him or follow his career, that's just what I think from the few times I've come across him on the frontpage.

To me he's like a non-asshole Keemstar.

When YouTube recommends a video and he's talking about something interesting, either a story I'm currently following or a headline that catches my attention, I'll give it a watch.

I have nothing against him, he seems like a cool guy, it's just I don't care about a majority of the topics he covers.

When I first discovered him, I thought he was a wad, and ignored it. I came across him again about five years later, talking about real actual news, in a mature way, and he also talked about he how was incredibly stupid back in the day. So, hey, he learned, apologized, became better, and this was years before cancel culture was ever a thing.

I remember thinking he was annoying when he was new. But I've heard good things about his show, and I think it's been over a decade since he started making an online presence.

Yeah he's matured a ton over the years. He still goes over Youtuber drama but it's hardly the main focus of his show. He just does general news now, but he's still basically a glorified, less cancerous tabloid in video form.

I still watch him every now and then. I don't follow the whole cancer shill part of the youtube sphere and global news so he can sometimes lead me to some interesting news every now and then

So, hey, he learned, apologized, became better, and this was years before cancel culture was ever a thing.

His "apology" basically amounted to "hey, I was a kid so it doesn't count." And I fail to see how cancel culture factors into the fact that Franco shouldn't be dropping N-bombs.

Tbh nobody should. Though the use of it in the past doesn't necessarily mean that he should be entirely discounted now.

If he was still dropping them or was entirely unapologetic about it then yeah, but he's owned up to the fact that he's said some horrible shit in his past. The best thing he, hell any of us really, can do is acknowledge that, apologize, and try to be a better person.

If we hold each other down for mistakes and fuck ups committed in the past, then we'll never grow.

Yeah his chosen name for his viewers always rubbed me as a little weird and potentially a turn off for brand new viewers

You're just lying about how he's apologized, though.

Cancel culture factors in because it's caused an increase in people being disingenuous about apologies.
